How you'll make an impact:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated laboratory-based chemist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and documenting experiments, maintaining laboratory equipment, and managing the lab inventory and shipping of compounds.

  • Under the guidance of a senior process chemist, familiarize and demonstrate chemical processes for the synthesis of pharmaceutical compounds.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring all instruments are in good working condition.
  • Serve as department representative on Kymera's laboratory safety team.
  • Maintain internal inventory of drug substances and drug substance intermediates.
  • Prepare and ship chemical compounds to internal and external partners, following all safety and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analytical chemistry, drug product development, and manufacturing, to support project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.

Skills and experience you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years or Master's degree and 5+ years of experience in a laboratory setting
  • Strong background in organic synthesis
  • Experience with modern analytical techniques such as HPLC, HPLC-MS, NMR, IR, GC, and KF.
  • Experience with or ability to learn DSC, TGA, XRPD, and PLM.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in maintaining laboratory equipment and managing chemical shipments.
