An essential part of the research and development team, the Chemist participates in formulation efforts to convert conceptual innovative ideas or technologies into actionable product concepts and prototypes that demonstrate unique and consumer perceivable benefits for Color Cosmetics/Skin Care/Personal Care consumers.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESChemist's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Develop quality formulas and present ideas to management. Responsible for the product from concept to completion. Carry out assignments required for the development of new products and innovation products with limited supervision. Follow project designs and projected milestones to drive projects to their completion. Formulate, research, test, stabilize, troubleshoot and validate products. Perform and monitor stability testing on batches. Explore new technologies, raw materials, and technical information related to the projects. Maintain detailed, organized records in formulation and project management databases. Troubleshoot any issues related to production, product development or product stability. Communicate with all intemal cross-functional groups to progress and track the development of all product initiatives ensuring timely execution. Ensure projects developed meet all regulatory guidelines and safety standards. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks. Prepare batches for formula submissions or internal or extremal testing. Other duties as assigned.

Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Sciences or related field. Formulation cosmetic chemist with at least 2 years of experience and passion for skin/hair care. Creative individual who thinks outside the box, Capable of managing a few different projects. Strong mechanical, analytical, problem solving, and conceptualization skills. Computer proficiency. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and work within a dynamic organizational structure. Experience of and understanding of skin chemistry and basic clinical methodologies used to support product and new claims development preferred. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and federal and state regulations. Ability to drive innovation in a competitive industry within a fast-paced research environment.
