Lab Technician II - Chemistry

This position is a vital part of the research and innovation lab within the Food & Beverage division. The role involves conducting chemical and physical laboratory tests to support scientists in qualitative and quantitative analyses of various materials.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests, and analyses using techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, physical and chemical separation techniques, and microscopy.
  • Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist scientists with qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, and gaseous materials.
  • Compile and interpret results of tests and analyses.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to chemists and engineers.
  • Prepare chemical solutions for products and processes following standardized formulas, or create experimental formulas.
  • Maintain, clean, and sterilize laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Write technical reports or prepare graphs and charts to document experimental results.
  • Order and inventory materials to maintain supplies.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in chemical, chemistry, and wet chemistry techniques.
  • Experience in laboratory and lab testing procedures.
  • Ability to plan, execute, analyze, and report on lab-based experiments.
  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
  • Proficient in statistical analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with chromatography, spectroscopy, and microscopy.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Work Environment

The team consists of four members, with most spending some time in the lab. This role supports other innovation teams in the Food & Beverage division, involving interactions with a broader team. The position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to engage in multiple R&D projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
