Job Title: Chemical Analyst
Job Description
As a Chemical Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting chemistry testing and equipment qualification in accordance with standard operating procedures, regulations, and cGMPs. You will document and assess test results, assist in customer projects, and ensure compliance with all safety, environmental protection, and cGMP regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review documentation and release of incoming materials such as API, excipients, and processing auxiliaries.
- Ensure project milestones for the Chemistry Laboratory are met in a timely manner.
- Establish, review, and approve documentation such as SOPs.
- Conduct, document, and assess analytical testing of raw materials and finished products.
- Collect samples of raw materials and utilities.
- Train colleagues on mastered techniques in the Chemistry Laboratory.
- Maintain the Chemistry Laboratory in a GMP-compliant state.
- Collaborate with vendors for external qualification and maintenance of chemical analysis instrumentation.
- Conduct internal qualification and maintenance of chemical analysis instrumentation.
- Review and verify analytical testing.
- Complete Laboratory Investigations.
- Perform additional tasks as requested by management.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific subject.
- 0-3 years of experience.
- Undergraduate research experience.
- Good knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices.
- Basic knowledge of HPLC and pH meters.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Familiarity with analytical chemistry techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Work Environment
You will work in a laboratory setting, spending 50% of your time conducting chemical tests and the remaining time on documentation reviews, equipment management, and peer reviews. The work hours are from 9-5 or 8-4:30, with a team size of six individuals. The company is expanding, with a new site opening in Des Plaines next year. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.50/hr.
