The Associate Scientist I, R&D, is responsible for carrying out laboratory experiments, generating and analyzing data, and contributing to innovation projects.
This position reports to the Senior Scientist II, R&D, and is part of the RNA Sciences team located in Fargo, ND, and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Carry out laboratory experimentation under supervision of a more senior scientist, and work with current and future RNA processes in support of Aldevron's clients, services, and technologies.
- Record data and create project summary reports, maintain current and detailed lab notebooks, and present findings and recommendations to the team.
- Maintain cleanliness and calibration statuses of equipment
- Actively contribute to a team setting within the laboratory to: increase efficiency, solve problems, generate cost savings, improve quality, and provide new innovation support.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or a related discipline
- No additional years of experience necessary
- Experience with molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, electrophoresis, ELISA, and/or chromatography.
- Knowledge of the scientific method, and how to collect, maintain, and record details and observations during testing so that results are replicable.
- Problem-solving ability, including ability to read and understand scientific literature.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience with:
- Statistical analyses or software, especially JMP or R.
- The manufacture or purification of nucleic acids.
