The Analytical Chemist II client compounds following client guidelines, CMTI procedures, policies, and cGMPs to ensure timely flow and completion of in-process micronization and milling and external analytical testing jobs. The Analytical Chemist II will also be responsible for technical review of peer data. Testing includes (but is not limited to) characterization of drug substance physical properties (particle size analysis, x-ray powder diffraction, surface area analysis etc.) and chemical testing of drug substance and drug product samples (HPLC, GC, Karl Fisher etc.), stability testing, release testing etc.

This position is 100% on-site at the Malvern site.

Shift: Monday - Thursday 12:00 pm - 10:30 pm

The Role

  • Carry out the analytical testing activities of pharmaceutical actives and excipients according to client specific test methods, CMTI test methods, or USP tests.

  • Verify cleaning of processing equipment through analytical testing procedures.

  • Technical support and assistance in training of analytical chemist I (i.e. test methods, Documentation, etc).

  • Support Management by communicating directly with clients regarding new projects, on-going projects, etc.

  • Provide analytical support to CMTI Operations group, with emphasis on in-process particle size analysis, ID testing, controlled supply testing, cleaning verification etc. Communicate in-process testing results to operations personnel in a timely manner.

  • Document all testing, deviations, investigations etc. as per cGMP and CMTI guidelines.

  • Perform routine maintenance and conduct performance verification testing on analytical equipment.

  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment. Responsibilities may include: glassware cleaning, solvent/sample disposal etc.

  • All other duties as assigned.

The Candidate

  • Bachelor of Science in a scientific discipline; 2+ years' experience preferred.

  • 1+ years GMP Laboratory or equivalent experience.

  • Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per day, climb steps and ladders, and lift up to 40 pounds as needed.

  • Ability to wear safety shoes when applicable.
