This role will focus on developing advanced materials and devices for near eye displays, and will become part of a team exploring novel concepts through design, modeling and fast iterative prototyping. This role is part of a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment, partnering with scientists and engineers communicating complex concepts clearly and succinctly.
Required Skills:
Material Scientist - Polymer/Organics Responsibilities:
Demonstrate feasibility of benchtop formulations and processes for novel polymer film, fiber and composite and other organic materials
Identify novel polymer applications in the AR/VR, haptics and robotics systems, and prototype the applications
Autonomously drive deliverables
Collaborate in a team environment across a varying set of disciplines and domains including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, and Physics

Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
1+ year experience creating processes for novel polymer film, fiber and composite, and other organic materials
Ph.D. degree or equivalent experience in Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Physics, Polymer Science, Organic Physics, or a related field
Experience with semi-crystalline polymers

$117,000/year to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
