Staff Data Scientist - Modeling Focus (IC Role)
Remote (EST/CST)
$200-250k + bonus
We're looking for a data scientist who loves building models and has a strong background in commercial and digital data. Ideally, you've worked in fast moving environments, translating complex data into actionable insights for marketing, sales, or customer experience.
What you'll be doing
Own models end-to-end: clean the data, engineer features, build, validate, deploy, and iterate
Use statistical and predictive modeling to tackle forecasting, optimization, and risk challenges
Build models from scratch and bring key modeling in-house
Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and product teams to ensure models are production-ready and maintain performance
Monitor model performance and adjust as needed when data drifts
Communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, influencing strategy across the business
What we're after
5+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying models in a data science role
STEM degree (or equivalent experience)
Strong Python and SQL skills, with experience in scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, or similar
Demonstrated ability to lead hands-on modeling projects
Solid statistics background: regression, hypothesis testing, experimental design
Comfortable wrangling large, messy datasets
Clear and concise communicator who can translate technical results into business impact
