It is also one of the global independent market leaders in certain testing and laboratory services for genomics, discovery pharmacology, forensics, CDMO, advanced material sciences and in the support of clinical studies.If you're looking for a rewarding career, a place to call home, apply with us todayJob DescriptionPerform cell-based functional assays in support of neuroscience drug discovery projects.Provide technical support to project teams on-site to achieve critical research objectives and timelines.Perform hands-on laboratory work, including routine cell and biochemistry assays:Prepare solutions and culture media.Maintain multiple cell lines, including primary neuronal cultures.Measure biochemical or functional parameters in cells using techniques like microscopy, live fluorescence imaging, immunocytochemistry, calcium imaging, morphology, and live/dead cell assays.Perform biochemical assays such as AlphaScreen, ELISA, MSD, and SDS-PAGE.Process data generated from these assays and report findings under supervision.Accurate recording of all practical work: completion of electronic lab notebook to meet quality standards.Maintaining a tidy and efficient laboratory environment and ensuring health and safety standards are met.QualificationsMinimum Required Qualifications:B.S. degree in Biological Sciences (Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, or a similar field) with 4-6 years of relevant laboratory experience.Demonstrated experience with aseptic tissue culture techniques, media preparation, and simultaneous handling of 3-5 different cell conditions / cell types, including primary neuronal cells and iPSC-derived neuronal cells.Working knowledge of key biochemical techniques, cellular assays, and cell biology.Hands-on experience with cell-based and plate-based methods, including ELISA, reporter assays, and immunofluorescence.Demonstrated understanding of biology lab safety requirements.Excellent written and verbal communication, work planning, data analysis, problem-solving, and record-keeping skills with strong attention to detail.Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow SOPs, and comply with company policies.Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.Preferred Qualifications:Background and interest in neurodegenerative disease research, including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and ALS.Hands on experience with neuronal differentiation.Hands on experience with high content imaging (HCI) assays, image analysis and software, including Harmony, Columbus, and ImageJ.Hands on experience with plate-based instrumentation (i.e. Revvity Opera Phenix and Tecan) and automation troubleshooting.Experience with transient transfection methods (i.e. electroporation, Lipofectamine, and FuGENE).Experience with electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) documentation.Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.Additional InformationWhat to Expect in the Interview Process: 10-15 Minute Phone Screen with the Recruiter45 Minute Virtual Interview with Hiring Manager45-60 Minute In-Person Meeting over Coffee for a Casual Discussion of the RolePosition is Full Time, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with overtime as needed.
