Description of Work:
The Department of Biochemistry at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln ( UNL ) Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources ( IANR ) is seeking applications for a highly motivated and enthusiastic post-doctoral research associate. This 12-month (calendar year), special appointment will conduct independent and collaborative research, contribute to experimental design, and lead specific research projects; perform data collection in growth chambers and field experiments, analyze results, and interpret findings; and evaluate and improve research techniques, modeling approaches, and experimental protocols for advancing scientific objectives. This position will be located in Lincoln, Nebraska, with an apportionment of 100% research.
In addition to the above-described duties, the individual will be expected to accept committee assignments, reporting responsibilities, and other special ad hoc assignments as requested at the administrative unit, college/division, institute, and/or university level.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in plant physiology or a related field.
- Record of first-author peer-reviewed research publications.
- Experience gauging plant physiology and stress related measurements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in the use of Infra-Red Gas Analyzer and other photosynthesis-related devices.
- Ability to assess plant performance, including photosynthetic gas exchange and shoot and root productivity.
- Experience phenotyping data measurements in the field.
- Manuscript production competency.
- Statistical analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with leadership on research teams.
