Why does the job exist?
This position assists the administrative permitting program of the Oil Conservation Division's (OCD) Environmental Bureau to ensure OCD goals and objectives are met. This position primarily will assist in all aspects of the work of the administrative permitting program; and will also have the expertise to: help coordinate and implement OCD programs to ensure that they meet legal requirements; help advise senior management on legal and management issues, policies and rules, and have in-depth familiarity with the Oil and Gas Act and Rules, the Water Quality Act and Rules, the regulations and agreements governing the OCD's Environmental Bureau administrative permitting program.

Processing and evaluating permit applications and performing field inspections of regulated facilities.

This job supports the oil and gas industry, other state and federal agencies and the general public.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:
* Experience in environmental compliance
* Groundwater or spill remediation experience
* Oil and gas experience
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Physical, Natural, or Environmental Science, Soil Science, or Engineering and five (5) years of work experience in public/environmental health, environmental science, Air Quality Management, Biology, Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, Hazardous Waste Management, Wildlife Management, and/or Water Resources. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
