The position is an excellent opportunity for an individual to contribute to the long-term growth and development of the North American Analytical Center of Excellence. This position is primarily accountable for using scientific approaches to provide support to our applied research & product development programs and solve paint & coating problems for our North American businesses.

RESPONSIBILITIESResponsibilities include:
- Appropriate application of analytical techniques and data analysis in support of problem-solving, regulatory projects and quality issues.
- Work with team members to develop new methods and implement new analytical techniques.
- Collaborate with various business partners to support research and new product development.
- Accurate documentation and presentation of lab results and technical information.
- Identify potential Continuous Improvement opportunities and drive necessary actions for implementation.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATION:
Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
Must have a Bachelors degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) field
Preferred:
Bachelors degree in chemistry
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a team setting
Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Ability to interface with different business units to satisfy customer requests
Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
Basic knowledge of statistics and data analysis
Excellent organization and planning skills
Preferred:
Experience in a lab setting
Experience with analytical techniques including FTIR, GC-MS, GPC
Knowledge of polymers and coatings
Instrument maintenance and troubleshooting skills
Industrial Analytical laboratory experience
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 10%
Upon completion of construction, the individual selected for this role will primarily work at the new Sherwin-Williams Global Technology Center in Brecksville, Ohio. Construction is expected to be complete in 2025. Until then, the role will be based at Breen Technology Center, located at 601 Canal Road, Cleveland, OH 44113.
