Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lab Technician to join our team and navigate the plant environment to obtain liquid samples from silos. You will be responsible for testing samples using lab equipment and instruments, ensuring they meet specifications in terms of PH, acidity, freezing point, viscosity, and solid/fat percentages. This role requires meticulous documentation with dates and signatures while maintaining cleanliness in the lab to prevent contamination. You will also ensure supplies are refilled and follow FDA and plant standards diligently.

Responsibilities

• Navigate plant environment to obtain liquid samples from silos using FDA and plant standards.
• Test samples for PH, acidity, freezing point, viscosity, and solid/fat percentages using lab equipment.
• Document all procedures with dates and signatures while maintaining a clean lab environment.
• Refill lab supplies such as chemicals and pipets.
• Follow FDA and plant standards consistently.
• Calibrate equipment daily and multitask to ensure product samples meet specifications.
• Receive phone calls from the dairy and various parts of the plant.

Essential Skills

• Experience in quality assurance and quality control.
• Proficiency in using lab instrumentation.
• Understanding of chemistry, laboratory, biology, and microbiology.
• Knowledge of GMP and QC practices.
• Skills in titration, inspection, and analytical chemistry.
• Strong data entry abilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technical sciences.
• At least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to document and review Quality standards.

Work Environment

The work schedule includes 3rd shift from 10pm to 6:30am, with flexibility required based on production and staffing needs. There is potential for 6-day work weeks and occasional 12-hour shifts, which may be from 6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6am.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.75 - $23.25/hr.
