What are we looking for?

Synthomer is seeking a Laboratory Technician for the Adhesives Technology Business. This position provides an excellent opportunity for an individual to contribute innovative technology and product solutions to deliver growth for multiple Synthomer product lines and markets. Successful candidates would work under the guidance of principal investigators to conduct front-end laboratory research in one or more of the following areas: small molecule synthesis, polymer synthesis, formulation, application development, and various testing and analysis activities

What youll own in this role

Set-up and execute effective experimentation programs involving but not limited to laboratory scale preparations, formulation development, application testing, process development and scale-up of product concepts.

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment including glassware, reactors, furnaces, and analytical instrumentation.

Accurately record and analyze results, solve complex problems, and document conclusions.

Maintain an organized and safe laboratory environment.

Submit samples and/or interface with Material Characterization and other internal partner organizations.

Willingness and desire to function in a team setting.

What youll need to be successful

High school Diploma or equivalent

Minimum 1 year of experience in an industrial laboratory; 3 years preferred

Proficient in Microsoft SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Familiarity with industrial lab safety practices and procedures

Familiarity with handling hazardous materials safely

Solid written and oral communication skills

Effective time management skills

Looking for highly motivated person with action oriented personality

Ability to work independently with supervision in an empowered team atmosphere

Commitment to teamwork and collaboration

Must have a high regard for safety of yourself and safety of others

Strong reading, listening, multitasking, problem solving, time management skills

Qualifications that can set you apart...

Associate Degree in Biology or Chemistry

Experience working in a lab or manufacturing plant performing emulsion polymerizations

Chemicals manufacturing experience

Familiarity with handling hazardous chemicals safely

Understanding of common analytical techniques is a plus
