Formulator / Scientist
We are seeking a Formulator/Scientist with hands-on experience in sports nutrition product development, including protein powders, pre-workouts, hydration blends, and flavored drink mixes. The ideal candidate is not only technically competent but also comfortable communicating directly with customers, understanding their product vision, and translating it into commercially viable formulations.
You will work alongside our Sales Team and Production teams, contributing to the development of clean-label, performance-driven supplements with best-in-class taste and functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
Formulation Support: Assist in the development and testing of sports nutrition products, including pre-workouts, proteins, and electrolyte blends
Flavor Development: Work on flavor masking, sweetener balancing, and sensory optimization for powdered supplements
Customer Interaction: Participate in client calls and email communications to understand formulation goals, ingredient preferences, and sensory expectations
Sample Preparation: Prepare internal and customer samples for tasting, testing, and stability reviews
Documentation: Maintain formulation records, ingredient specs, and version control within R&D logs
Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with QA, production, and procurement to ensure formula feasibility, cost-efficiency, and manufacturability
Regulatory Awareness: Support compliance by ensuring ingredient choices meet regulatory guidelines for dietary supplements
Salary: 125,000
Benefits & Relocation

Relocation: Prefer local, but will support a lump sum move for a renter
Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience in dietary supplement formulation (with a focus on sports nutrition strongly preferred)
Practical knowledge of flavor systems, sweeteners, and functional ingredient interactions
Experience working with protein powders (whey, vegan, blends), pre-workouts, BCAAs, hydration mixes, etc.
Strong communication skills and customer-facing professionalism
Familiarity with FDA regulations, supplement facts panel creation, and GRAS ingredient usage
Comfortable using formulation software, spreadsheets, and basic lab equipment
Science degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or related field (preferred but not required if experience is strong)
Nice to Have:
Experience working at a contract manufacturer or flavor house
Knowledge of ingredient suppliers and sourcing
Exposure to the full product lifecycle from concept to commercialization
Interest in fitness, sports nutrition, or wellness industries
