ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluation of metallization products and processes.
Support project through experimentation from assessment through to implementation.
Screen metallization products via analytical procedures or standard operating practices utilized within the metallization R&D group
Compliance with environmental health and safety best practices
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrable hands on background and excellent practical laboratory skills.
A Bachelors degree in Chemistry or a relevant science/applied science subject
Experience with electrochemistry / electrochemical techniques, inorganic chemistry, corrosion science, surface science and/or metallization techniques (wet or dry) preferable.
Good practical analytical chemistry skills and experience with SEM operation would be beneficial
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
Excellent time management skills and strong bias for action.
Prepared to work extended and unsociable working hours if necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experimentation:
Demonstrated ability to conduct experiments and evaluations independently and as part of a team while exhibiting a strong commitment to safety at all levels.
Knowledge of the use of experimental design and statistics for planning and analyzing experiments is preferred.
Attention to detail and procedure as defined by best practices within the metallization group.
Participate in team approach to product development by sharing knowledge, ideas, and creativity.
Technical:
Strong background in problem solving, using multiple analytical procedures to identify and characterize product development barriers.
Experience with a wide range of analytical techniques such as SEM/EDS, HPLC, GC, AES, wet chemical techniques, and surface analysis methods. Experience in applied electrochemistry is preferred.
Previous experience and knowledge of metallization processes is preferred.
Previous lab or industrial experience.
Interpersonal skills:
Strong team player.
Strong attention to detail.
Must also be able to work independently with limited supervision.
Effectively communicates verbally and in writing to team members and management on all aspects of program activity.
