The Scientist II, Manufacturing Protein Madison position is part of the Tech Transfer team in the Protein Business Unit of Aldevron. This is an on-site position at the facility located in Madison, WI. At Aldevron, we combine best-in-class products and service with the ideal operating environment to lay the groundwork for vital new discoveries worldwide. You will be a part of the Technical Operations team and report to the Technical Operations Director. Your responsibilities will revolve around transferring processes to produce and purify recombinant proteins from development to manufacturing.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Create and maintain data in process calculation tools
  • Daft and maintain process description documents and assist in drafting batch records and other documentation for manufacturing processes
  • Communicate process requirements to manufacturing teams and lead in identification of appropriate equipment and methods
  • Independently, proactively investigate, troubleshoot, and improve existing processes and implement new technologies to achieve quality scientific results
  • Effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary scientists on development and manufacturing projects and play an integral role on project teams

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • College degree in biology, biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or a closely related field with the amount of relevant work experience listed below
    • Associate with 6+ years; Bachelor's with 4+ years; Masters with 2+ years; Ph.D. with none
  • 3 or more years of some combination of prior lab experience, preferably with protein production, purification, and manufacturing, or manufacturing science/process engineering experience involving tech transfer or manufacturing
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Working within a Quality Management System and experience working in an ISO certified facility or GMP working environment
