Advertised Job Summary
Design, fabricate, and attach radar, camera systems and INS systems to a powerboat for data collection. Maintain and operate the powerboat in littoral environments that will be used to acquire measurements that are required for our research goals. Determine new sensor requirements that will aid in navigation in the littoral environment. Analyze data acquired using MATLAB or other programming languages.
Required Education and Experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Engineering or related field
- 2+ years of experience using sensors in littoral environments, e.g., ADVs, sonar systems, etc. Taking bathymetric and flow measurements in bodies of water.
- A strong history of scientific publications.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Programming: (1) Scientific programming such as Matlab, C, etc. (2) Database knowledge such as SQL. Skills: Operate and maintain small motorboats and their engines. Fabricating using metal (welding, cutting).
