Quality Control Lab Technician

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Quality Control Lab Technician to join our team. This role involves conducting hands-on quality testing in a chemistry lab, focusing on finished material testing and ensuring the highest standards of quality control. You will play a crucial part in testing and verifying finished goods, identifying process failures, and participating in continual improvement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Test and verify all finished materials according to Test Procedure/SOP.
  • Determine if materials can be adjusted based on control plans and FMEAs.
  • Write clear and concise directions for batch adjustments.
  • Assist in flagging, tagging, and documenting materials as scrap per Non-Conformance procedures.
  • Maintain manual product quality files for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Perform statistical analysis on finished goods to ensure process control.
  • Observe production processes and verify adherence to written instructions.
  • Participate in SPC and testing method evaluations.
  • Assist Quality Manager/ Senior QC Technician with minor material quality issues.
  • Recommend process improvements to eliminate rework and enhance product quality.
  • Perform housekeeping duties including cleaning freezers and ovens, maintaining test equipment, and verifying equipment calibration.
  • Dispose of retains monthly and maintain organized workspaces.
  • Conduct line audits, dock audits, and work order staging as required.
  • Test all incoming raw materials per customer/NCU requirements and prepare reports.
  • Handle chemicals safely and wear required PPE.
  • Label QC-approved incoming materials and participate in inventory control.
  • File work orders, packaging tickets, and certificates of analysis into ERP.
  • Engage in improvement processes and training activities.
Essential Skills
  • Great communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Science (Chemistry).
  • Attention to detail and focus.
  • 0-2 years of industry experience performing chemistry lab testing.
  • Knowledge of quality control, assurance, chemical manufacturing, GMP, SOP, and laboratory practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Fundamental understanding of QC requirements is preferred.
  • Experience with viscosity, FTIR, UV-vis, DSC, and ISO 9001 is advantageous.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
