Responsible for the planning, preparation, execution, and analysis of experiments related to evaluating the biodegradability and ecotoxicity of various materials, chemicals, and products; plan and prepare complex biodegradability and ecotoxicity testing experiments; conduct biodegradability testing according to established protocols and procedures, ensuring accuracy and precision in measurement and documentation; monitor and record experimental data, including observations, measurements, and results in a timely and organized manner; maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure their proper functioning; adhere to laboratory safety protocols and guidelines, including those for handling hazardous materials and waste disposal; utilize and apply knowledge of biodegradability/ecotoxicity testing procedures, HPLC, laboratory equipment calibration, formulation excipients, manufacturing drug product dialysis, DNA/RNA isolation techniques, microscopy, immunofluorescence, thin layer chromatography, data generation/verification/interpretation, pH testing procedures, solubility testing, GCMS testing, FTIR testing, and cell culture/transfection/luciferase assays to perform assigned tasks; ensure maintenance of a safe working environment; collaborate with other team members to exchange information and share findings in connection with experiments and studies; and provide support for the building out of more testing systems as needed. Location: 21564 Alexander Rd., Bedford, Ohio, 44146; Salary: $58,469 per yearEducation: Bachelors -- Biology, Biological Science, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree); Training: None; Experience: One (1) year in the position above, as a Laboratory Scientist, as a Laboratory Technician, as a Biochemist, as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, as a sub-inspector in Biology/Serology, or in a related occupation; Other Requirements: Experience must include one (1) year use of all the following: DNA/RNA isolation techniques, microscopy, immunofluorescence, thin layer chromatography, data generation/verification/interpretation, pH testing procedures, solubility testing, GCMS testing, FTIR testing, and cell culture/transfection/luciferase assays. Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience.
