Part-Time In Vivo Research Associate - Contract - San Francisco, CA
Ready to be the heartbeat of medical research? Join our client as an In Vivo Research Associate and assist in turning innovative science into life-changing care! Proclinical is seeking an In Vivo Research Specialist to provide essential support for in vivo studies involving mice.
Primary Responsibilities:
This role focuses on routine dosing, blood collection, and necropsies, ensuring the health and welfare of animals during studies. You will collaborate with study leads to manage logistics and document procedures accurately, adhering to all animal welfare standards and institutional protocols.
Skills & Requirements:
Degree in a life science field such as Biology, Pharmacology, or Veterinary Science.
Proficiency in standard dosing techniques; advanced skills in specialized dosing are advantageous.
Experience in blood collection and tissue harvest.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently, including weekends, with flexible hours.
Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
Commitment to ethical research and high standards of animal care.
The Part-Time In Vivo Research Associate's responsibilities will be:
Perform routine dosing (PO, IP, IV, SC) and assist with oropharyngeal and intratracheal techniques.
Conduct blood collection, including submental and terminal cardiac bleeds.
Carry out necropsies with full tissue harvest and weight collection.
Monitor body weight and manage special diets, including replacement and logging.
Ensure animal health and welfare throughout studies.
Collaborate with study leads on scheduling and logistics.
Document procedures and observations meticulously.
Comply with animal welfare standards and institutional protocols.
Compensation:
$45 to $55 per hour.
