What You’ll Do:

• Lead all functions of the Quality Control Lab with a focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Develop and mentor lab personnel—train the team in testing protocols, equipment use, and quality control techniques.
• Monitor plant operations and quickly identify any quality or process deviations.
• Operate and oversee lab instrumentation (HPLC, refractometers, Karl Fischer titrator, moisture analyzers, yeast viability tests, and more).
• Ensure testing protocols are accurate and repeatable; maintain strong communication with suppliers for technical support and innovation updates.
• Partner with plant leadership to support R&D and continuous improvement projects.
• Take ownership of lab safety programs, compliance documentation, and QA reporting.
• Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence in the lab environment.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven lab operations leadership, ideally in ethanol, food, or chemical processing.
• Strong grasp of lab safety standards, EPA regulations, and compliance reporting.
• HACCP, Food Safety, and Process Safety Management knowledge preferred.
• Clear communicator and team motivator with solid organizational and computer skills.
• Ready and able to wear PPE and support plant-wide safety protocols.
