QC Chemist

Job Description

The Chemist position involves conducting routine and non-routine quality tests to ensure the quality and development of pharmaceutical platforms. The role primarily utilizes HPLC, UPLC, and GC instrumentation, adhering to Good Lab Practices (GLP) regulatory standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preparation, collection, measurement, and recordkeeping of samples.
  • Document test and data analysis results.
  • Support development and commercial QC release as needed.
  • Communicate with team members to ensure schedule requirements are met.
  • Apply knowledge to elucidate test method failures.
  • Analyze, deduce data, and collate test results.
  • Communicate priority and timeliness for completion of customer requests.
  • Help drive the team to meet business objectives and understand the manufacturing organization that the lab supports.
Essential Skills
  • Degree in Chemistry or related science.
  • At least 6 months of chemistry experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industries.
  • At least 6 months of experience with GMP/cGMP.
  • At least 6 months of chromatography experience (HPLC, GC, UPLC), wet chemistry, analytic, FTIR, pharmaceutical.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to maintain good time management.
  • Excited/desire to learn.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory with solvents and pharmaceutical substances.
  • Previous pharmaceutical experience.
  • Additional experience with HPLC, GPC, GC-FID/MS, FT-IR and UV-Vis.
  • Experience with chromatography software such as Empower and LIMS.
  • Equipment troubleshooting experience.
Work Environment

The team supports devices within the QC pharma space that have a drug component, completing tests on specific lots for products.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
