QC Chemistry Associate
Position Type: Contract
Position Location: Allentown, PA
Position Pay: $24 to $27 an hour based on experience
Position Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Must have at least 1 year of lab experience outside of schooling
This is an analytical wet chemistry role, so you need lab experience.
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Chemistry Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sample preparation, documentation, and operation of various analytical instruments including UPLC, ICP-OES, Sysmex CS-2500, and automated pH meters. This role requires a strong background in chemistry, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced quality control pharmaceutical environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Sample Preparation: Prepare samples for analysis according to established protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all experiments, analyses, and results.
- Data Entry: Accurately input data into laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other databases.
- Report Generation: Compile and generate comprehensive reports summarizing experimental procedures, findings, and conclusions.
- Record Keeping: Ensure all laboratory notebooks, logs, and electronic records are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Follow and contribute to the development and revision of SOPs to ensure consistency and reliability in laboratory practices.
- Instrumentation - UPLC, ICP-OES, CS2500, automated Ph Meter. Don't use gas chromatography, everything is solution-based.
- UPLC Operation: Operate and maintain Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) systems for the analysis of chemical compounds.
- ICP-OES Operation: Perform Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES) for elemental analysis.
- Sysmex CS-2500 Operation: Utilize the Sysmex CS-2500 system for analyses.
- Automated pH Measurement: Conduct pH measurements using automated pH meter and ensure calibration and maintenance of the equipment.
- Quality Control: Ensure all analyses meet quality control standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure smooth workflow and accurate results.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Additional Tasks: Perform all other assigned tasks or duties as given by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably with experience in UPLC, ICP-OES, Sysmex CS-2500, and/or automated pH meters.
- New Grads Must Have: Experience outside of school
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Adaptability: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced quality control pharmaceutical environment.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of FDA regulations and USP standards.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet project deadlines and operational needs. Possible schedule adjustments.
