Scientist (Downstream Purification)

The Downstream Purification Scientist will be responsible for development and optimization of mAbs and other company's molecule processes that include separation techniques such as column chromatography, filtration, and TFF. The Scientist will solve challenging downstream processing problems such as removal of process and product impurities taking in consideration virus clearance expectations. Analyzes results to perform process risk analysis such as fit-to-plant assessments, and generates tech transfer documentation such as process descriptions, batch record review/approval, managing technical relationship between sending and receiving organizations, campaign monitor and run investigations. Perform lab-scale experiments to support process changes, generate robustness data. Exercise application of principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to design, execute, and interpret new experiments as a result of other experimental outcomes. Write technical reports and deliver presentations on experimental results. Position is a hands-on, laboratory-based role. Other responsibilities include: Participation in projects under general supervision to meet project goals. Work (independently or in collaboration with others) to advance, research, development, or support programs. Development of new methods, technologies, and processes when necessary for project advancement. Analysis and interpretation of results. Preparation of technical reports summaries, protocols. Presentation of findings at internal meetings. Minimum Requirements: A minimum of a Bachelors or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Biochemical or Chemical Engineering, or related field BS/MS and 5+ years of experience. 3 years in purification process development or related purification-based work with biological products strongly preferred. Preferred Experience/Skills: AKTA chromatography system HPLC Protein purification
