What You'll Do:
As a Technical Application and Services Chemist, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, responsible for daily activities of the laboratory to support the applications group and sales team to deliver technical expertise. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life. You will also be responsible for clear communication to both the Technical Application and Services Lab Supervisor and technical team to help identify gaps in the current operating procedures that enable Lubrizol to be able to deliver beyond customer expectations.
Understand and comply with all applicable internal corporate and external health, safety and environmental policies, act consistently with corporate standards of integrity.
Deliver internal and external projects in accordance with agreed upon timetables with proper documentation and communication.
Participate in multi-functional project teams. Interface and solicit support from multiple groups to help deliver results on time (Sales and Marketing, Production, Quality Control, etc.).
Supports technical topics such as formulation, failure analysis, EHS&S systems, and regulatory compliance.
Establish technical expertise that enables an understanding of products, testing, and market-driven projects to allow for collaborative and cohesive input.
Safeguard technical information and ensure that information provided is correct and meaningful to customers request and objectives. Maintain appropriate information in SharePoint, PAP, or other software sites.
Cultivate and participate in creating an inclusive and diverse culture that sustainably takes action, is courageous, seeks diverse perspectives, leads decisively, and demonstrates an all-in attitude that leads to collaboration and accountability.
Communicate project updates that allow product management, sales, and the technical community to understand timelines, roadblocks, or unforeseen challenges to eliminate any surprises.
Play a key role in maintaining and cultivating internal and external technical relationships such as with R D, TAS, Lubrizol technology sources, customers, and technical societies/organizations when appropriate.
Able to identify critical project problems and propose solutions for remediation.
Routinely attempts to solves problems and is willing to take reasonable risk to ensure success
Skills That Make a Difference:
Bachelor's degree in science (preferably in Chemistry) or Associate's degree with equivalent relevant experience.
Direct experience with lubricant laboratory testing is a plus.
Knowledge of commonly used office and laboratory software.
Self-starter with ability to publish and track record of publications is a plus.
Basic understanding of compressor and refrigeration technology and lubricants.
Strong data analysis skills, ability to understand complex problems and provide creative solutions.
Ability to manage multiple projects, and deadlines.
