Lab Chemist, 2nd Shift - RVI-Hanceville (Hanceville, AL)

SUMMARY:

This role involves a variety of responsibilities, from performing individual procedures to executing multiple microbiological and quality system tasks in a Food Safety Laboratory. Attention to detail, precision, and accuracy are essential, as is the ability to maintain ISO-compliant records to support process control, quality systems, and safety standards. Team members must successfully complete initial proficiency testing and demonstrate continued competency on an annual basis. Ongoing professional growth and development are expected following training. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. College coursework or a degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or related Physical Sciences is preferred.
• Experience: Prior laboratory experience is preferred.
• Computer Skills: Basic familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are important for success in this role.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and perform job duties for a full shift, including a meal break. Must be physically capable of bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, crouching, and handling items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
