If you're a Supplier Development Engineer III, we have an exciting opportunity for you. Identify and assess new suppliers to support Woodward commodity strategy. Train and develop Suppliers to meet Woodward expectations/requirements. Provide technical and quality direction to the supply base in direct support of the production and contractual requirements of the organization. Manage supplier APQP activities for New Product Launch or Part Transition Projects in compliance with Woodward APQP procedures. In addition, supplier development engineering is the owner of the sourcing quality system. As such, SDEs manage and improve the quality systems with sourcing as well as provide standards, mentoring and training to the supplier quality engineering business groups.What You Will Be DoingLeads supplier assessment process activities to evaluate whether a potential new supplier meets Woodward requirements for both technical and quality related capability.Works with commodity teams to identify and mitigate supplier capability / capacity / system gaps determined through supplier assessment activities. Responsible for approval of the supplier sourcing matrix.Ensures that potential suppliers understand quality and product requirements. Review drawing, specifications, and other product specific requirements to ensure that supplier understands and complies with all requirements through onboarding activitiesLeads project management regarding the implementation of development plans with multiple suppliers to support one or more commodity strategies.Leads SPIP (Supplier Performance Improvement Program) activities to drive QDRC (quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost) improvements for the mutual benefit of Woodward and the supplier.Serves as quality systems and supplier development escalation point of contact within commodity teams.
