JOB SUMMARY
As a Senior Process Design Engineer, you will take part in the development of our AirSCWO systems. This will require you to develop a thorough understanding of 374Water's AirSCWO process and contribute to its continual improvement. You will be part of a growing engineering team and will work directly with 374Water's fabrication team, equipment suppliers, and AirSCWO system end-users.
To be a successful candidate, you must have experience designing and working in an industrial environment. You should enjoy digging into the finer details of equipment and system design, have a thorough understanding of physics and chemistry, and you should have good knowledge of industry-standard equipment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop technical specifications for process equipment (e.g. heat exchangers, valves, pumps, custom equipment, slurry pumping, separation vessels)
- Develop relevant models to support process design (heat and mass balance, thermal, CFD)
- Lead technology development projects such as testing new equipment, designing custom subsystems, interfacing the SCWO process with pre and post treatment processes
- Perform value engineering for cost and/or footprint reduction
- Contribute to and revise P&IDs, perform design reviews, participate in HAZOP studies
- Create and maintain technical documentation and SOPs
WHO YOU ARE
Basic Qualifications
- BS in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
- 5+yrs experience in water/wastewater industry or similar chemical process industry
- 5+yrs experience working with pumps, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, valves, separation vessels, hydraulics
- 5+yrs experience with process simulation and modeling in an industrial environment; proficiency with Aspen Plus, ChemCAD, DWSIM, or equivalent
- 5+yrs experience in high-pressure, supercritical, hydrothermal processes or similar
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. No sponsorship available.
