We're looking for a Senior Principal Software Development Engineer to help us build new service for our customers, operate our service and improve our engineering process.

As a member of the OCI Platform Service team, you will work with our product team and other engineering teams to define new features for our customers. You'll design those features and then write code to build and operate them. You will help operate our service, troubleshoot problems and generally support our customers. You'll provide technical and project leadership to other software engineers on our team.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Principal Software Development Engineer to join our team. As an IC5 SDE, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining large-scale software systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, develop technical specifications, and implement high-quality software solutions.

In this role you will :

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain large-scale software systems, ensuring high-quality, scalability, and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, develop technical specifications, and implement software solutions
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to Oracle's coding standards and best practices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues, working closely with QA and support teams
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, technical notes, and user manuals
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and Oracle's product roadmap, applying this knowledge to improve software solutions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on large-scale software systems
  • Proficiency in programming languages, such as Java, C++, or Python
  • Experience with software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall
  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop creative solutions
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with Oracle's products and technologies is a plus

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracles differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
