POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a curious and results-driven Research Chemist to join our Research & Insights team. This role is responsible for conducting applied research to support new product development, process improvements, and technical problem-solving. The ideal candidate brings foundational chemistry knowledge, laboratory skill, and a drive to collaborate across teams to deliver data-driven insights that advance our business goals and uphold our commitment to "Doing Right."
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform intermediate to advanced laboratory testing and method development using GC, FTIR, rheometers, titrators, and related analytical tools.
- Analyze, interpret, and report experimental results with precision and clarity.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with chemists, engineers, and commercial teams to support innovation and optimization initiatives.
- Lead small-scale research projects or continuous improvement efforts within the lab.
- Maintain lab equipment, follow safety protocols, and promote a culture of scientific excellence.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation and analytical methods.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
- Effective communication and time management; capable of working both independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with ISO or ASTM standards is a plus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree or higher in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
- 2+ years of industrial R&D or applied research experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in chemical formulations, analytical chemistry, or process design.
- Experience contributing to or leading R&D projects that align with business strategy.
- Strong collaboration and mentoring abilities, with interest in developing others and sharing technical knowledge.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
