SunFly Brands, Inc. (SunFly) is a late-stage startup specializing in UV-sensitive, color-changing ink technology that indicates proper sunscreen application and when to reapply. This innovative technology serves the recreational sunscreen market by developing SPF indicators and is expanding to monitor UVA and UVB exposure for the beauty and cosmetics market to help prevent photo-aging. The candidate will work closely with the CEO/PI, an I-PERF fellow from Princeton, a 40+ year ink formulator and attend weekly calls with our senior scientific advisors and domain experts (Harvard and MIT) to report out findings and collaboratively define the product roadmap and prioritized weekly work plans. Responsibilities Maintain a startup mentality, sense of urgency and exhibit proactive and creative problem-solving skills Achieve agreed upon technical milestones in a timely and professional manner Anticipate technical roadblocks and surface plans to address them Present weekly progress reports Interface with SunFly staff, consultants and strategic partners on technical matters Document detailed lab and research notes Report NSF grant billables including materials, equipment, usage fees, etc. Lab management - ordering supplies, cleaning glassware, chemical waste disposal, maintaining chemical inventory, etc. Be willing to test our skin-safe inks on their own skin using UV lamps and sunscreens Salary: $64,000/year starting ASAP.
