We are seeking a Formulations Chemist with a strong background in chemistry, chemical formulation, and product development . This hands-on role focuses on the design, development, and optimization of formulated products such as coatings, paints, inks, enamels, adhesives, emulsions, or cosmetic formulations . Ideal candidates will have a passion for innovative chemistry and a solid understanding of formulation science , material compatibility , raw material selection , and application testing . Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and reformulate products using organic and polymer chemistry principles
- Develop stable and scalable chemical formulations for commercial applications
- Design and execute laboratory experiments for rheology, viscosity, adhesion, stability, shelf life , and performance testing
- Evaluate raw materials, surfactants, binders, resins, and additives
- Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Marketing on new product launches
- Support scale-up processes , pilot batches, and manufacturing transfer
- Document and analyze experimental data; troubleshoot formulation issues
- Conduct competitive benchmarking and stay current with industry trends and regulatory standards
- Train and mentor junior chemists and lab technicians
- Maintain compliance with all laboratory safety procedures and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline
- 5+ years of hands-on formulation experience in one or more of the following:
- Coatings (water- or solvent-based)
- Paints, Inks, or Enamels
- Cosmetic or Personal Care Products
- Adhesives, Sealants, or Polymers
- Strong understanding of formulation design , raw material interaction , and chemical compatibility
- Proficient in analytical techniques and lab instrumentation (e.g., viscometer, pH meter, FTIR, HPLC, DSC, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving and data interpretation skills
- Strong project management and team collaboration capabilities
