We are looking for a Process Project Engineer to join our Performance Materials team in Central, SC.

We are seeking a professional like you to develop and execute capital and expense projects within our Clemson Urethanes Systems House including scope development, design, cost estimation, obtaining project approval, contractor coordination and implementation for projects.

In this role you will successfully complete assigned projects safely, on schedule and within budget, while following BASF Corporation Engineering and EHS standards and procedures. In addition, you will serve as the site OpEx Coordinator and Information Protection Officer. You will be a vital part of the site's EHS processes and culture and will be responsible for some associated activities.

As a Process Project Engineer, you create chemistry by...

  • Utilizing your experience in project management you will perform all aspects of project related duties including SAP project management, scope development and design (including P&IDs, PFDs, etc), POM development, cost estimation, contractor coordination, implementation and start-up for small capital and expense projects (
  • Your strong skills in preparing specifications, issuing requisitions, evaluating bids, working with vendors, and working with Procurement will be an asset as you will be accountable for performing certain procurement activities while complying with applicable guidelines.
  • Leveraging your proficiency in SAP you will maintain project data entries, monitor project progress through scheduling and other tools, perform project status reporting, and control spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and adjustments.
  • Fostering your continuous improvement mindset, you will serve as the site OpEx and Waste Walk coordinator, implementing and reporting on improvement measures across the site. You will also serve as the site Information Protection Officer.
  • Your strong attention to detail will ensure compliance with all environmental, safety, and health requirements, and promote a safe working environment for project execution. It will also ensure that projects are closed and executed following guidelines, and ensuring proper documentation of files, records, databases, and drawings to meet regulatory and BASF requirements.
  • Fostering a collaborative and strategic focus you will assist in the development of the project capital planning and budgeting process.
  • By applying your prior work experience in manufacturing, you will provide technical engineering support to the utilities department. You will also gain knowledge of the cylinder and portable tank processing areas to provide improvement and process support for normal operations and continuous improvements. You will work with the Autofroth commercial team to implement improvements.

If you...

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline.
  • Have 5 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Possess demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Are able to work independently under broad goals and objectives with minimal guidance. Also, possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have demonstrated leadership skills with focus on relationship building and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Are proficient with SAP and MS Office (preferred).
