Underground Construction Quality Control Technician:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Underground Construction Quality Control Technician to oversee and ensure the quality and compliance of underground infrastructure projects. The QC Technician will be responsible for inspecting, documenting, and verifying that all underground construction activities adhere to project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct daily quality inspections of underground utilities (telecom) trenching, plowing and HDD operations.
Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, safety regulations, and company standards.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions.
Work closely with construction crews, subcontractors, and project managers to address quality issues and implement corrective measures.
Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Support pre-construction and post-construction quality assurance activities.
Ensure proper use and calibration of testing equipment and tools.
Report safety hazards and quality issues promptly to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of experience in underground utility construction or related QC role.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal construction codes and standards.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Familiarity with testing methods for soil compaction, pipe installation, and concrete.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Valid drivers license and ability to travel to various job sites.
Preferred:
Certifications such as NICET, ACI, OSHA 30, or equivalent.
Experience with GPS, total station, or other surveying tools.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed on active construction sites with exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, dust, and heavy equipment.
May require lifting up to 50 lbs, walking on uneven terrain, and working in confined spaces or trenches.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary depending on project demands.
