Job Description

Danfoss Power Solutions designs and manufactures a complete range of engineered components and systems. From hydraulics and electrification to fluid conveyance, electronic controls, and software, our solutions are engineered with an uncompromising focus on quality, reliability, safety, and efficiency while reducing or eliminating emissions

We are looking for a Development Engineer to join our dynamic R D team within the Editron division, focusing on the design, development of hybrid and fully-electric drivetrains for the Off-highway and On-highway sector.

The preferred locations for this role are Lappeenranta, Finland or Longmont, USA.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will be at the forefront of innovation, leading the design and development of electric machine prototypes and ensuring their successful transition to market.

Key Responsibilities:

Electromagnetic design of electric machines accounting for thermal and mechanical constraints.

Preparation of winding instructions and electrical wiring diagrams for electric machines.

Designing and optimization of electric machines using modern simulation tools and optimization algorithms.

Development of test specifications for electric machines.

Analyzing and tuning electromagnetic models based on the test results.

Leading prototype development and ensuring timely delivery with high customer satisfaction.

Driving the Product Development (NPD) process using PLM tools to achieve PPAP and APQP milestones.

Managing and fulfilling customer technical requirements and documentation systems.

Providing expert support to cross-functional teams including operations, sales, and project management.

We would love to hear from you if you:

Hold a degree in electrical engineering, computer science, data science or a related technical field.

Have hands-on experience with Matlab, Python, or C++.

Understand electromagnetic design principles and simulation tools (Ansys Maxwell 2D/3D, Flux 2D/3D or similar).

Have experience with design methods using DFMEA or similar and with problem solving or root cause analysis tools (8-D or similar).

Possess excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a collaborative environment.

Are organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with limited information.

Have project management experience or a great interest in developing these skills
