Our client produces coatings for appliances, agricultural and construction equipment, electronic materials, automotive parts, residential and commercial construction, wood flooring and many other finished products. The position will functionally report to the Technical Team Leader for Coil Coatings. The selected candidate will work closely other chemists and technicians on the team in support of key customer projects and the operations team in the plant.

responsibilities:
Major Accountabilities will include, but may not be limited to the following areas:

Manufacturing Support

  • Manufacturing Process: Assisting with lab work in support of trouble shooting production issues
  • Formula Filing: Filing and updating of formulas in the Oracle ERP system under the direction of senior team members
Technical/ Customer Support

  • Conducting lab experiments to resolve customer questions/concerns
  • Evaluating test pieces from line application trials
  • Providing both applied and wet samples to customers, both internal and external
  • Preparation and submission of samples for long-term weathering testing
Product Development

  • Replacement of obsoleted raw material in existing products
  • Formula modifications for cost optimization
  • Formula modification based on application changes

qualifications:
Required:

  • Candidate should have a BS Degree in a technical/engineering field such as Chemistry, Polymer Science, or Chemical Engineering. 0-3 Year's Experience
  • Hands on lab experience
  • Prior knowledge of coatings chemistry or formulation and coatings application is desired
Preferred:

  • Industrial lab experience preferred
  • Coil-applied coatings knowledge is preferred

skills: Chemistry, GLP (Good Laboratory Practice)
