Senior Chemist

Senior Chemist Englewood, CO

Type: Contract (1-yr, potential for extension or conversion)
Shift: 1 st Shift, M-F 9/80 schedule
Pay Rate: $34-$40/hr

Essential Duties :

• Perform and direct various analytical tasks using advanced instrumentation including GCMS, ICPMS, LECO Combustion Analyzers, Mercury Combustion and Cold Vapor Atomic Absorption, Auto-Titrators, MP-AES, ICP-OES, and ICP-MS.Lead junior chemists and technicians, manage SOPs and JSAs, multitask, use LIMS, manage chemical inventory.
  
• Plan and execute analytical projects, ensure quality and timely reports.
  
• Train in wet-chemistry and advanced instrumentation, comprehend Fire Assay Lab processes.
  
• Oversee QA/QC and procurement of technologies, lead method development, coordinate projects, contribute to R&D and new analytical methods.

• Manage and mentor junior chemists and technicians, foster development and goal setting, and conduct performance reviews.

• Handle requisitions, budget planning, and cost monitoring for projects.:

• Uphold standards and improve processes, ensure compliance, revise reports from junior staff.

• Manage contractor inductions, provide safety assessments, oversee contracted work scope.

Training & Experience :

• Bachelors/Masters in Chemistry or related field required, 7-10 years of experience in chemistry and lab testing preferred.
  
• Computer proficiency, problem-solving, procedural understanding, regulatory knowledge, involvement in educational activities, technical writing, and presentations are expected.
