Job Description

The QC Lab Technician plays a crucial role in supporting QC Lab Chemists by performing physical and chemical analysis to ensure all materials meet quality specifications. This position offers exposure to both chemistry and microbiology within a growing company, providing ample room for professional growth and development.

Responsibilities

• Assist QC Lab Chemists in testing raw and finished products using various test methods and instrumentation such as pH meters, Water Activity, FTIR, and HPLC.
• Enter data and manage records on computers, ensuring accurate file management.
• Perform lab maintenance and general cleaning duties.
• Discard old, retained samples according to standard operating procedures (SOP).
• Conduct QC testing and data review.
• Coordinate and perform sensory analysis of incoming samples with a trained team according to established procedures.
• Organize and catalogue retained library samples, folders, and paperwork, and order retains to support QC evaluation.
• Maintain cleanliness of the lab in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Chemistry, Quality Control, and GMP.
• Experience with analytical techniques such as FTIR and HPLC.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and SDS sheets.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in using computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
• Attention to detail and thoroughness in documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Education required; additional 2 years of college preferred.
• Two years of relevant industry experience within a cGMP environment.
• Ability to solve moderately complex problems with multiple variables.
• Competence in basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Capability to apply common sense understanding to instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.

Work Environment

The role operates within a GMP Lab with minimal gowning requirements and follows a first shift schedule from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The environment fosters a great team culture with no mandatory weekend work, though additional hours can be taken if desired. The position includes benefits such as PTO and holidays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
