  • Research, Design, develop, test, create specifications, document, implement, products and structures for
    new or improved products; monitoring from pilot to scale up.
  • Conduct lab & pilot scale research that supports product and process innovation and improvement and
    scaling that research to commercial processes.
  • Collaborate closely with global and national brand managers as well as other cross-functional team
    members in sales, plants, engineering, quality, and material & process suppliers to develop specifications,
    evaluate, and control properties of substrates, materials and processes.
  • Support the qualification of substrates, development materials, and processes used in ProAmpac line of
    products, both current and new.
  • Handles moderate complex issues, provides technical support and knowledge to solve issues and assists
    with project.
  • Utilize project management skills to effectively drive product development and innovation projects
    including project summary updates, innovation gating process documentation, project planning grant
    charts, preparing pertinent IP collateral, ensuring freedom-to-use documentation.
  • Complete cost analyses for projects to ensure opportunities for commercial success exist.
  • Support marketing requests for product performance and technical information.
  • Support and/or lead customer innovation sessions aimed at developing new product concepts.
  • Write product evaluation protocols, perform product testing, and author engineering reports with
    recommendations.
  • Validate materials and processes in accordance with FDA standards.
  • Keep abreast of and identify new developments and technologies in materials and processes.
  • May act as first line supervisor or team leader, provides coaching and mentoring.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably packaging, chemical engineering.
  • Statistics and statistical process control training.
  • 2-4 years’ work experience with flexible packaging.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies required such as Six Sigma, Lean, etc.
  • Familiar with blown film and lamination process a plus.
  • Work independently with minimalsupervision, ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams), and Outlook.
  • Maintainsstrict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive
    leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.
  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and
    develop solutions and/or options.

Work Environment

Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing
protection, safety shoes, vision and other PPE required while in manufacturing areas.
This role operates in a professional office environment and a pilot manufacturing environment. Employee may be
exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and
hot/humid environmental conditions in manufacturing areas.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax

with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or
move up to 10 pounds.

Salary

$83,900 - $101,900 annually
