The Ray and Stephanie Lane Computational Biology Department (CBD) at Carnegie Mellon University is renowned for its interdisciplinary approach to studying biological systems using computational methods. Faculty and researchers collaborate across fields such as computer science, biology, and statistics to tackle complex biological questions. Their work spans diverse areas including genomics, bioinformatics, systems biology, and computational neuroscience, driving innovation at the intersection of computation and life sciences.

We are seeking a Research Associate. The position will assist in the development and execution of (automated) experimental protocol, analysis of data collected and writing up experiment results.

Core responsibilities include:
  • Working with biological data
  • Developing and implementing experimental protocols
  • Conduct literature reviews to stay updated on the latest methodologies in biomolecular condensates
  • Data analysis
  • Writing up experiment results

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computational Biology or a related discipline; Master's preferred
  • Experience with experiment design
  • One year experience in an academic or industry setting
  • Experience writing up ideas for experiments and experiment analysis
  • Strong wet-lab and programming skills.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Requirements
  • Successful background investigation may be required.
