at University of Illinois in Urbana, Illinois, United States Job Description Educational Research Associate Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is accepting applications for an Educational Research Associate to join the Teaching and Learning Strategies (TLS) team. At CITL, we believe student and faculty-centered support is fundamental to educational excellence. The mission of CITL is to provide leadership for reflective and evolving teaching, instructional support, and educational innovation. In collaboration with the campus's academic units, CITL designs, plans, and implements credit and non-credit programs offered to all students. This position resides within the TLS team, the division responsible for supporting instruction across campus. The Educational Research Associate will provide support on the design, implementation, and analysis of studies aimed at improving educational practices, supporting instruction, and elevating teaching strategies across modalities. As part of the TLS team, the Educational Research Associate will play a pivotal role in supporting instruction through consultations, assisting with course design, supporting the development and delivery of course assessment tools, and promoting evidence-based practices. The successful candidate will also contribute to CITL's diversity and inclusion goals by collaborating with stakeholders across campus to promote and support inclusive teaching practices. Duties & Responsibilities Reflective, Evolving, and Data-Informed Teaching Provide consultation on the design, implementation, and analysis of studies to improve educational practices and student learning outcomes. Analyze and interpret research data using advanced statistical tools and methods to evaluate the effectiveness of educational tools, strategies, and interventions. Develop and implement proposals to investigate and support instructional strategies to enhance instruction across the campus. Support creating and delivering research instruments such as surveys, questionnaires, and interview protocols. Stay updated with current research and trends in teaching and learning to provide informed recommendations. Disseminate findings through presentations, written reports, websites, and peer-reviewed academic journals. Foster Teaching Excellence Build partnerships with instructors and staff to support instruction across campus. Advance the adoption of evidence-based culturally responsive teaching methods. Facilitate workshops, seminars, and training sessions on data-informed teaching practices. Assist in the development and revision of instructional materials and resources. Support the integration of technology and innovative teaching methods in the classroom. Provide support and resources for instructors to create accessible learning environments in accordance with Title II regulations. Other duties as assigned Position Qualifications Required- Master's degree. Minimum of 2 years of experience in educational research or terminal degree in education or related field (PhD, EdD) Demonstrated experience providing instructional support and training. Preferred- Doctorate. Demonstrated experience with educational technology and digital learning tools. Demonstrated experience working with Learning Management Systems. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Strong knowledge of pedagogical theories, instructional design, and assessment methods. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback and support to educators. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse academic community. Strong organizational and analytical skills Familiarity with at least one commonly used statistical program, such as SPSS, SAS, STATA, R, or others. Appointment Information This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. The salary for this position is $65,000- $70,000. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
