Eli Lilly and Company seeks a Drug Substance Process Development Engineer (R1-R2) to develop manufacturing technologies and processes for drug substances. Design and execute experiments in lab and author documentation in laboratory notebooks and technical reports. Design effective and efficient process and equipment flow strategies to ensure successful scale-up. Transfer process technical information and technical oversight to internal and external manufacturing sites for both laboratory and manufacturing activities. Design and characterize a process using numerical engineering modeling tools and deep understanding of chemical unit operations. Generate engineering-based process scale-up knowledge across a variety of drug substance modalities to ensure successful scale-up. #LI-DNI

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and 2 years of academic or employment experience in the pharmaceutical industry and with laboratory research in synthetic chemistry or in a biology laboratory. Academic or employment experience must include a minimum of: 2 years of experience with analytical techniques for the characterization of synthetic or biomolecules, including HPLC, LC/MS, UV-Vis, NMR, IR, and TLC; 2 years of experience with computer programming software including C++, Python, Visual Basic; and 2 years of experience with engineering modeling software packages including Aspen, Dynochem, Reaction Lab, and ChemCad. Part time telecommuting may be permitted. Up to 10% domestic and international travel required. #LI-DNI

Actual compensation will depend on a candidates education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
