Chemical Quality Technician

Job Description

Join a dynamic chemical manufacturing company as a Quality Control Technician on a contract-to-hire basis. This role is primarily lab-based, performing essential tests on raw materials and inspecting finished products on the production line. You will spend approximately 70% of your time in the lab and 30% in the plant. The position demands effective communication and adaptability to an industrial work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic lab tests such as pH, specific gravity, viscosity, and titrations on raw materials, batches, and fill line samples.
• Calculate batch adjustments as necessary.
• Inspect packaging lines to ensure conformance to specifications, including fill weight, cap torque, labels, label placement, and lot coding.
• Document test and inspection results using both paper and electronic forms.
• Review and maintain production records and files.
• Inspect finished goods and received components for release.
• Investigate quality complaints and nonconformances.
• Maintain attention to detail and professional integrity.
• Communicate effectively with production staff and management.

• Proficiency in quality control, laboratory work, and quality assurance.
• Ability to read, edit, proofread, and interpret documents such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Strong proficiency in grammar and spelling.
• Excellent attention to detail.

• Bachelor's degree in a chemistry-related discipline or 1-2 years of quality experience.
• Associates degree in a science-related field with industry experience.
• Computer proficiency using Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO-9001 and/or regulatory experience with FDA, EPA, DOT, and OSHA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
