Metallurgical Engineer (FPG)
Pay Rate: $46.16-$69.24/hour on W2
Contract: 6 months
Location: Chattanooga, TN 37415 (Onsite)
Raise is currently hiring a Metallurgical Engineer (FPG) on behalf of our client. They're expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Responsibilities
Performs the metallurgical engineering analysis of materials, such as chemical, metallographic, mechanical testing and scanning electron microscopy.
Applies both specific technical and diversified knowledge of metallurgical engineering principles and practices in the conduct of performing laboratory testing and analysis of materials.
May direct these activities depending upon experience and particular situation. Expected to make substantive judgments in developing, modifying, and implementing procedures to achieve laboratory analysis.
Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and adherence to applicable QA program requirements and procedures, as this testing and analysis also supports nuclear power plant testing and evaluations.
Responsible for preparing and overseeing technical report development for completed analysis, including reports by lower-level employees.
Where applicable, the practices/specifications identified in ASTM, AME, ANSI, and ASME.
Qualifications
Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) experience Laboratory experience is preferred.
Familiarity with a quality program is desired.
