Senior Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities:
Laboratory Work:
This position involves working in a laboratory setting, conducting experiments, handling laboratory equipment.
Identifies and suggests improvements in methods, plans projects of limited duration and scope, troubleshoots when erroneous or unexpected results occur.
Responsible for producing research experimental results, or information/data management results.
It is expected this worker to work without supervision and coach/support less experienced laboratory technicians and assistants.
Technical Skills and Previous Experience:
Lab Equipment and Techniques:
This position requires strong familiarity with laboratory equipment and techniques.
Knowledge of chemical & analytical skills and equipment setup is also required.
Experience:
3-5 years+ prior relevant experience working in a research or manufacturing/engineering laboratory environment is required.
Biochemistry experience is preferred.
Safety and Compliance:
Adherence to the Safety Protocols: Understands and follows EH&S standards.
Use of safety procedures & appropriate PPE mandated.
Compliance with laboratory safety procedures.
Soft Skills:
Communication and Collaboration:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective documentation and communication of results, good organization skills, follow SOPs, and adhere to safety protocols, strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Coach and support to less experienced laboratory technicians and assistants is expected.
Specific Tasks: Specific tasks might be defined based on the CPD&D area that will be recruiting.
Educational Requirements:
BS in Science (Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology) or a related field.
