POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for providing analytical support for the Pinto Valley Mine, Concentrator and SXEW plant, including but not limited to the preparation and processing of ore samples, process samples, and exploration samples.

In addition, the technician will be utilized in sample prep, wet laboratory and operation of analytical instrumentation.

Mine and Processing (including Crusher, Mill and SXEW)

External:

Business Services, Human Resources, HSEC and Contractor / Vendor Services (as required)

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure all employees are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine and MSHA safety guidelines and procedures.

Ensure all employees and contractors are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine standard operating procedures.

Ensure that all employees and contractors are certified to execute the tasks/s they are assigned (as necessary).

Promote a safe work culture for employees and contractors.

Properly prepare, dry, weigh, and analyze samples and accurately record results.

Safely store and handle chemicals and reagents.

Apply mathematical principals including, weighted averages, simple averages, multiple decimal multiplication and division, etc.

Prioritize work to ensure lab deadlines and goals are met with minimal supervision.

Behave in a way that demonstrates support of Capstone's Vision and Values: Safety, Accountability, Caring, and Excellence.

Responsible for but not limited to all tasks/duties assigned or required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge

SAP experience preferred.

Microsoft Office (with intermediate Excel skills preferred) and Microsoft Outlook.

Experience with a Lab Information Management System (LIMS) preferred.

Previous experience in Open Pit and/or Concentrator.

Key Competencies / Skills

Minimum of two years mine or commercial laboratory experience.

Experience with and knowledge of computers and software.

Extremely organized for both sample integrity and time management.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Must possess Intermediate math skills necessary to perform calculations accurately.

Valid Arizona Driver's License.

Able to speak, comprehend, read and write English.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Lab and Mine, Concentrator and SXEW (as required).
