Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Technician to support our research and testing activities. The ideal candidate will have basic laboratory experience, including proficiency with balances, pipettes, and the preparation of reagents and media. This role involves performing chemical extractions and maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment. This position requires performing detailed analyses, interpreting findings, and validating the precision and consistency of laboratory data to ensure its reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform analytical testing using HPLC-UV, LC-MS, GC-MS, and/or ICP-MS according to established protocols and regulatory guidelines.
Operate and calibrate laboratory equipment, including balances and pipettes, ensuring accuracy and precision.
Prepare samples, standards, and reagents for analysis, ensuring all procedures comply with laboratory safety and quality standards.
Prepare and maintain microbiological cultures, media, and reagents.
Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and quality assurance protocols.
Troubleshoot and maintain analytical instruments, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning properly.
Collaborate with team members to to troubleshoot experiments, optimize procedures or methodologies and improve laboratory processes.
Participate in method development and validation as required.
Ensure compliance with quality control and assurance protocols, including participation in audits and inspections.
Document experimental procedures, results, and observations in lab forms and electronic systems.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory workspace and equipment.
Assist in inventory management, including ordering and restocking supplies.
Follow safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
Analyze and report test results to management, providing insights and recommendations when necessary.
Assist in troubleshooting laboratory issues and optimizing testing procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field preferred.
At Least 1 year of relevant laboratory experience with proficiency in at least one of the following techniques: HPLC-UV, LC-MS, GC-MS, or ICP-MS.
Proficiency in USP, AHPA, or FDA microbiology testing methodologies. Experience with E. coli, Salmonella spp., and Listeria testing.
Ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment, specifically balances and pipettes.
Understanding of reagent and media preparation.
Experience with chemical extraction techniques is a plus.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately.
Excellent organizational, time-management and project management skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong interpersonal skills and a team player attitude.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that require standing for extended periods.

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Analyst position requires a bachelor's degree or a minimum of two years of industry experience performing technical laboratory work, including data processing and reporting.
Position Salary Ranges
Laboratory Technician: $42,000 - $52,000, based on qualifications and experience.
Laboratory Analyst: Starting at $55,000 to $65,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
