Client Overview:
Our client is a multinational consumer goods company focused on producing and distributing a diverse range of food, home, and personal care products globally. They are looking to add a Formulation Chemist to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$25/hr - $30/hr (Based on relevant experience)
Position Overview:
The Formulation Chemist is responsible for lab-scale batching, formulation documentation, and day-to-day lab operations, including inventory and stockroom management. The ideal candidate will have hands-on lab experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced R&D environment.
Responsibilities of the Formulation Chemist:
- Manufacture lab-scale batches of personal care products for innovation and stability testing.
- Record all batch information in the LIMS system.
- Maintain raw material and fragrance chemical inventory, ensuring accurate stocking and labeling.
- Support lab organization and cleanliness, including general upkeep of benches and stockrooms.
- Input formulation data and specifications into internal systems.
- Communicate batch results and updates via Microsoft Outlook and Teams.
- Collaborate with formulation scientists and project leads to meet experimental objectives.
- Perform tasks that require standing at lab benches and occasionally lifting 5-gallon containers.
Required Experience/Skills for the Formulation Chemist:
- Prior laboratory experience (academic or professional).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage moderately complex tasks independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Comfortable working on feet and performing physical tasks in a lab setting.
- Data entry experience.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Formulation Chemist:
- Knowledge of formulation principles and product development processes.
Education Requirements:
- A background in Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or Formulation Chemistry is required.
