About this role:

The Dairy Senior Applications Research & Deployment Principal Scientist plays a critical role in advancing the company's understanding of ingredient interactions and translating this knowledge into tailored, customer-focused solutions. This position leads complex research and development initiatives, driving the creation of innovative ingredient applications to meet unique customer needs.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead advanced research and development projects to design and optimise ingredient applications that address specific customer requirements.
  • Conduct detailed studies on ingredient interactions, performance and compatibility to develop innovative solutions for unique formulations.
  • Provide technical expertise to support the refinement of application methodologies and ensure products meet performance and quality benchmarks.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical insights and solutions to address complex application challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with Technical Service and other Innovation &R&D teams to test, evaluate and validate application performance in real-world conditions.
  • Develop and document best practices for ingredient usage to enhance the functionality and marketability of products.
  • Stay current with industry advancements and emerging technologies, integrating them into the development of innovative applications.
  • Mentor and guide junior scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; may hold a professional qualification at this level.
  • Expert knowledge of R&D in the food and beverage industry as well as deep expertise of key disciplines in applications development. Expert knowledge of the policies, objectives, operations and related activities within a Sub-Region or Sub-Function in Applications Research & Deployment.
  • Advanced communication skills to persuade and influence. The role needs to adapt styles, and interpret and explain information to differing audiences from inside and/or outside the organisation who are not familiar with the subject matter.
  • Lead the resolution of complex or unusual applications-related issues, utilising innovative approaches, research and sophisticated analytical techniques.
  • Provide advice and guidance through expert technical knowledge, research and analysis, which impact the performance of the team and shape the development of the discipline.
  • Accountable for meeting own targets, which impact the discipline at the sub-regional level. May be accountable for a project delivery, responsible for time, cost, and resource management of a project.

Tate & Lyle complies with all local/state regulations requiring salary range transparency.

When determining final compensation, we take into consideration: skillset, job scope, knowledge, prior experience, cost of living, market data, budget availability, and other factors as permitted by law.

The pay range for this position is: $115,000 - $181,000
